How are the Army graduations from AIT? Is it worth going?

My husband is graduating from Fort Knox in February. I wanted to know how are the Army graduations? Like, are they a really big deal or do people think they waste there money by going. My husband is not sure that he wants me to come because we are on tight budget and we would have to pay for my plane ticket, hotel, and transportation to and from the airport. Is it worth going? I would love to see my husband graduate but we want to know is it truly worth spending 700.00...I live in Southern California and he is in Kentucky so that's why everything would add up to that much. Help!!!
