Cancelling a loan consolidation process?

I just summitted an online application to consolidate my student loans through direct loans. I changed my mine after doing some further calculations. If I call and ask, can they cancel the process and keep the consolidation from happening? (it's friday so I have to wait until monday and just want peace of mind).
