Can you attach and iPod to the G35S 2007 Infiniti?

Bought some cables to attach the ipod to the av plugs but still unable to control ipod via steering wheel and nothing displays on navigation screen. Anyone know a work around to make it show up on the screen and/or control it through the steering wheel?
